Abstract

Since October 2017, Electronic automatic payments have been applied in all Indonesian toll roads. This payment system needes an extra system which is able to distinguish the types of motor vehicles that will enter the toll road due to the regulation itself which allow four-wheel or more vehicle to pass the toll road. This automatic system can be built by a classification algorithm, and one of the best is Support Vector Machine (SVM), in order to be able to classify non-linear separable data, SVM must be modified by giving kernel function on it. Furthermore, determining the approriate kernel for every classification problem is a fundamental step, and that’s obviously not easy, to solve that problem the researchers found a method that can make this kernel function more flexible, this method called Multi Kernel Learning (MKL). Main idea of this method is formulating some kernel function to be one kernel function. This framework is built an automatic system to classify the types of motor vehicles using Support Vector Machine modified using Multi Kernel Learning method. The experimental result shows that the system has a good average value of accuracy that is 84.60%, the average value of precision is 84.95% and also average value of recall is 84.60%. Abstract

This research is an experimental research with the aim to know: (1) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of class VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with contextual approach; (2) improvement of the average of mathematical representation skills of grade VIII student of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi before getting learning with conventional approach; (3) an average increase in student representation skills taught by a contextual learning approach is better than an increase in the average of mathematical representation skills taught by conventional learning. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi academic year 2016/2017 spread in 2 parallel classes with the number of 46 people. The population consists of two classes, then the sample is chosen by specifying the first class as the experimental class and the second class as the control class, assuming that the two classes are statistically homogeneous. This data collection technique uses test and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of empirical research indicate that; (1) Improvement of mathematical representation skills of class VIIIA students taught by using contextual learning model consisting of 24 students showed average value 46,25 and deviation standard 7,409 with mean increase or average N-Gain value 0, 42 is in the medium category. The improvement of the mathematical representation skills of VIIIB class students taught by using conventional learning model which consist of 22 students shows the average value 49,09 and deviation standard 15,402 with mean increase or average of N-Gain value equal to 0,25 is at low category. Inferential statistical analysis shows that (1) there is an increase in the average ability of students 'mathematical representation after having contextual learning, (2) There is an increase in the average ability of students' mathematical representation after conventional learning, and (3) students' mathematical representation with the application of contextual approach is higher than the conventional learning model in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Uluiwoi. Abstract

This research is based on the frequent learning of mathematics which is generally centered on the teacher, which is often considered able to make the students can understand the material given. While, students should participate actively in learning, to be able to build ideas through the ability and thought in accordance with their understanding. This research is quantitative descriptive. The techniques used in this study are observation, questionnaires, and tests. Learning model in this research is using mind mapping method, because mind mapping method can help students to not always record writing as a whole. Students can present words, ideas, made on their own thoughts, understanding and creativity, and can understand the material for a longer period of time. Based on the background, the purpose of this research is to describe the student activity during the application of mind mapping method, to describe the student's response and the learning result after applying the mind mapping method on persamaan garis lurus. The conclusion that can be drawn from the application of mind mapping method on the equation of persamaan garis lurus of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 48 Surabaya is that with mind mapping method can make the students more active role in the class. And for learning outcomes also experience mastery at equation of equation.. Keywords: mind mapping, activity, response, learning outcomes

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the activities and responses of students through the in-solution posing learning model. This research uses quantitative approach with descriptive method. The population in this study is the students of class VII MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak academic year 2007/2008 who studied the material of comparative value and turned the value. The result of the research shows that students of Grade VII MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak are active in learning with within-solution posing and VII students of MTs Negeri 2 Pontianak give positive response to learning with within-solution posing. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether there is a significant correlation between the practicum to final grade of the General Biology subject of Mathematics Education student IKIP PGRI Pontianak. Research subjects are all students of Mathematics Education which follow the subjects and practicum of General Biology starting from academic year 2014/2015 until 2016/2017. Instrument in this research is documentation of data result of practicum and final score of General Biology of academic year 2014/2015 until 2016/2017. Based on the result of research and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the practicum to final score of the General Biology subject of Mathematics Education Student IKIP PGRI Pontianak for the academic year 2014/2015, 2015/2016, and 2016/2017 with the result of p value (Asymp Sig 2 tailed) of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 Keywords: correlation, practicum, final score.

Abstract

Classical learning with teacher-centered is regarded as one of the causative factors of low mathematics learning achievement of 11th grade of KR 2 students in SMKN 8 Surabaya. Hence, teachers are required to find and get someway which can reform learning motivation of students. One alternative ways that can be used is by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. This research is a PTK with two cycles, that each cycle has four stages. From the analysis results, it was found that the students' learning outcomes have been classically improved from first to the second cycle. In the first cycle the percentage of students' learning success reached 58.62%. At the same time, in the second cycle, it increased up to 86.20%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach can upgrade the mathematics learning achievement of student, and can be used as an alternative way in learning mathematics. Abstract

The development of the world of education in Indonesia can not be separated from the influence of globalization, science and technology are always growing rapidly give a comprehensive impact on all aspects of human life, including the sector of education. Resilient and competitive human resources are needed to meet these challenges. Thus, the need to know about Adversity Quotient of a person to know how far a person can survive and overcome the difficulty. Mathematics which is a universal science underlies the development of modern technology and has an important role in various disciplines. The development of problem-solving abilities is also one of the most important aspects in the objectives of mathematics learning, especially on sequence materials and arithmetic series. Arithmetic sequences and series became a very important mathematical concept because of its wide application, so widely used in daily life. So this qualitative research is done with the aim to describe the process of solving the problem of rows and arithmetic series of junior high school students based on Adversity Quotient climber category. Technique of data collection is done by giving of Problem Solving Task (TPM) sequence and arithmetic series and job-based interview. Based on the analysis of research data that has been done, it is concluded that climber students in understanding the problem trend to read the problem twice. In plotting problem solving, climber students have an alternative solution to solve a given problem. At the implementation stage, climber students solve existing problems based on the most appropriate appropriate problem-solving plan and clearly disclose the truth information from the solution of the problem that has been done. The process of re-examining the problem solving, it is clear that the climber's students are re-checking and also trying to find alternative ways to solve the problem by first making an illustration of the drawing before doing the calculation process.
